why .plan?

in the days before social media and blogs (and the web), some people would dump their thoughts into the .plan file in their home directory (on UNIX etc. systems) and others could use the finger utility to read it remotely. some people still do this. i opted for something a little less plain-text, but it’s otherwise the same idea: a place to put my thoughts on stuff i’m working on.

right now, i’m working on three style examples between commission work; i have already completed the first two of five total. the next three are of increasing levels of detail and difficulty, mostly to stretch my legs, because i’ve been tired of not stretching for so long. i’ll make a post about these as i finish them, as a kind of postmortem of the process.
